Developer / Leader / AI Enthusiast
Hey there, I’m Rohit Jain, a developer turned Head of Engineering — a curious technologist who stumbled into code and never looked back. These days, I’m building Gen AI applications at American Chase, leading a quirky team of engineers and shipping fast, sometimes on purpose.
But my journey into tech wasn’t a straight sprint.
It began like many great stories do — by accident. Somewhere in Indore, with nothing more than curiosity and a Windows machine, I discovered the joy of building things from scratch. From writing my first “Hello World” to deploying full-stack products used by millions, it’s been a ride full of side quests, chaos, and late-night debugging sessions that now feel like oddly nostalgic memories.
🧠 My Background
Over the past 8+ years, I’ve worn many hats — engineer, product owner, team lead, open source contributor, and startup founder. I’ve worked across sectors from edtech to fintech, building systems that scaled, and some that gracefully collapsed (we call those “learning experiences”).
- 🎓 Started as a Campus Amabasdor for Microsoft and Mozilla, evangelizing open-source tech in Indore and organizing web literacy campaigns.
- 💻 Worked with Microsoft India to run developer trainings across 10+ states, teaching cloud, Visual Studio, and more.
- 🚀 Co-founded and led tech at scool.life, where I built Edtech Platform,ERP tools, content infra, and helped secure early funding.
- 📱 Led engineering at Pataa, revamping the app, launching payment APIs, and scaling to over 7.5 million downloads.
- 🧭 Built product at Modern Data and Avizva, defining strategy, UX, and PMF across B2B and B2C ecosystems.
- 🔬 Now, at American Chase, I’m exploring the intersection of AI, tech, and product-led growth at scale.
⚒️ What I Love Doing
- Tinkering with new ideas — hackathons, weekend builds, MVPs nobody asked for
- Solving messy product problems — aligning engineering effort with user needs
- Working with early-stage teams — where chaos meets creativity
- Mentoring juniors and creating docs — the quiet parts of leadership
- Writing software and stories — especially when no one else wants to
✨ My Values
- I believe in open source, not just as code, but as a philosophy.
- I believe in teaching what you learn, especially while you’re learning.
- I believe that impact > job titles, and small teams can build world-class things.
- And I strongly believe in tech that uplifts people, not just metrics.
🧪 What This Blog Is About
This site is where I share what I’m building, thinking, breaking, or reflecting on.
- Notes on Gen AI: frameworks, use cases, failures, and experiments
- Engineering leadership: systems thinking, team scaling, hiring, and product vision
- Full-stack insights: code, infra, APIs, and everything in between
- Build-in-public updates from side projects I’m quietly obsessed with
- Personal stories from my journey across corporate tech, startups, and open source
Sometimes it’ll be practical. Sometimes philosophical. Occasionally absurd. Either way — it’s always me.
🧭 Fun Facts & Nostalgia
- This blog is my digital home — and just like real homes, it’s been torn down and rebuilt too many times to count.
- I built my first blog in college using raw HTML, no frameworks, and pure chaos.
- I still enjoy writing code that only I understand (and future-me regrets).
- I keep this blog alive not because I have to, but because I want to remember why I started.
